Tinubu should have called Oyetola to a roundtable to enable me join APC – Adeleke

Osun Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said President Bola Tinubu should have summoned him and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to a roundtable discussion if he truly wanted him to defect to the All Progressives Congress.

Adeleke made the remark on Friday during an interview with a private television station in Osogbo while reacting to claims surrounding his alleged planned defection to the APC some months ago.

“The President is the father of all. If he had called all of us, including Oyetola, to a roundtable and told him there that he wanted me to come to the APC and contest under the party, that would have sorted it,” the governor said.

He also took a swipe at the lawmaker representing Osun East, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, saying his victory in the 2023 general election was due to his support.

“Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi won his election because of me. After I became governor, I campaigned for him, and he won. Let him come and win now,” Adeleke said.

The governor accused the senator of inconsistency, alleging that he once blamed Oyetola for Osun’s challenges but changed his position after joining the APC.

“He has two mouths. Immediately he won, he said Oyetola was the one who messed up Osun State because he was stealing Osun money and taking it to Lagos, and that was why he was voted out. Now that he has joined APC, he has changed his stance and started attacking me,” Adeleke alleged.
