The management of Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun, has announced the reinstatement of 18 students of the school who were suspended for protesting.
The students had protested on March 16 against the management of the school over an increase in school fees.
Following the protest, the school management, through the Registrar, A.O. Abiodun, suspended the students indefinitely, noting that the protest they engaged in was destructive and violent.
However, in another letter on Thursday, the management said the students have been reinstated following the intervention of the Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, and other stakeholders.
“The College Management magnanimously approved that you should be reinstated to complete your academic activities upon the submission of Court Affidavit and letter of Undertaking to maintain good conduct.
“Consequently, I am to inform you that you are hereby reinstated immediately with retrospective effect from 5th May, 2025 for your academic activities,” the letter by the Registrar read in part.
