The caretaker chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State, Titus Odesola, has disowned Dr. Tosin Odeyemi as chairman of the council in the state.
osun.life reports that IPAC in August 2026 inaugurated a new 9-man executive led by Dr Tosin Odeyemi of the Democratic Leadership Alliance, DLA.
Fifteen of the 22 registered political parties in the state affirmed Odeyemi and eight others during the event held in Osogbo.
But Odesola, while appearing on a programme on Western Spring Television, said there was no election that produced Odeyemi, describing the purported exercise as “a meeting between friends.”
“There was no election. It is a meeting between friends to friends. If Dr Tosin Odeyemi claims he was elected, where did he purchase the form for that election?” Odesola queried.
He explained that the last time Odeyemi purchased a form to contest was in March, when he was still chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the state, adding that the election was later postponed.
According to him, Odeyemi subsequently resigned from the NNPP and joined the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA, an action which he claimed nullifies the earlier form purchased.
“After that, he resigned from the NNPP and joined another political party, DLA, which, in my view, nullifies the earlier form he purchased,” he said.
Odesola added that the national leadership of IPAC does not recognise Odeyemi as chairman, which necessitated the caretaker arrangement currently in place.
“That is why the National IPAC does not recognise the chairmanship of Dr. Tosin Odeyemi. The caretaker arrangement was therefore put in place to cater for the present situation,” he stated.
