Residents of Iwo, Osun State, are counting their losses after a torrential downpour that lasted hours.
The rainfall, according to some residents who spoke with osun.life affected houses and caused flooding in some areas.
Areas mostly affected, according to the residents, include Yafoye, Oke-Afo, and Agoro road in Iwo.
An indigene of Iwo, Dolapo Olayiwola, urged the state government as well as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to come to the town’s aid.

He wrote on Facebook, “The massive flooding in Iwo in Osun State today has displaced many residents and left families stranded.
“As a concerned son of Iwoland, I appeal to the Osun State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and all relevant agencies to urgently intervene and provide relief for our people. Iwo deserves immediate attention and support in this difficult time.”
