Osogbo Tennis Club this morning began its ladder ranking competition which is expected to grade and rank over eighty members of the club.
The club founded in 1991 and located in a pricely GRA area of Osogbo, Osun State, last held a ranking competition in 2017.
The competition which began this morning saw Akintunde Fagbemi defeating Kayode Dagiloke 8-4.

The competition continues later today with Mustapha Muyibi vs Nurudeen Raheem, Wale Egbedun vs Joseph Akanbi and Biola Oni vs Kolapo Badru.
In a brief remarks, the Chairman of the organizing committee, Mr. Niyi Oguntunde, explained the modalities behind the competition. The competition which has 12 seeded players will see over 20 players compete for a slot of 4 before an eventual draw of 16 is made.
He said: “I am happy to see the start of a process I and my colleagues have worked on, we took our time to fine tune the process and I assure you that our eventual ranking will be a true reflection of the quality of players at this noble club.”
In his charge, the Captain of the Club, Mr. Biola Oni, urged members to put in their best, exude confidence and show the fans the quality of players the club has.
“The next ranking won’t take place until 2021, so I urge my colleagues to put in their best to reflect the beauty of the game.”
