Some Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State have expressed confidence that the Supreme Court appeal panel headed by the Acting Chief Justice of the Federation, Hon. Justice, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, would do justice to the governorship appeal filed by Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The front line chieftains of the opposition party in Osun State made this known today in separate exclusive remarks with osun.life.
In his own remarks, a former Senator and Minister of Youth Development, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, said that “as expected of every loyal member of our party, it is our hope that justice would be served by the Supreme Court ruling on Friday.
The Ode-Omu born politician also said that “the eventual victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke will be a welcome relief to the long-suffering and impoverished masses of our Dear State who have been at the receiving end of the bad governance of APC administration in Osun State for the past nine or so years.
“The whole World knew that Adeleke’s PDP won the election at the first ballot but for the inconsistencies in our electoral system. This was confirmed by President Muhammadu Buhari when during the presidential campaign he made an addition to our political lexicon with his infamous ‘remote control’ statement”, he concluded.
For the ranking elected official of the party from Osun State, the Senator representing Osun East senatorial district, Senator Francis Fadahunsi said, “My expectation is victory for Senator Adeleke and the PDP, the whole world knew we won that election, the tribunal said we won, the appeal didn’t say we lost but relied on technicalities, but with a dissenting voice at the appeal, that tells you as far as law is concerned Ademola Adeleke won and I am hopeful that the Supreme court will restore the mandate Osun people gave freely to Adeleke on 22nd September 2018.
He added that, it is their believe that the lordships of the Supreme Court will right the wrong of the appeal court. In his words, the Osun East Senator concluded that “the suffering in Osun is enormous and God will have mercy upon our people and deliver the state from the prolonged pains it has been subjected to in the hands of people who don’t see themselves as part of us”.
For Prince Dotun Babayemi who joined the party less than a week ago, the Gbongan born Philanthropist also bore his mind on Friday’s Supreme Court judgment, in his words, “we know that God’s will shall be done, we expect that the Supreme Court of Nigeria would yield to the peoples will as manifested in September 22, 2018 governorship election, by God’s grace, Senator Ademola Adeleke would become Governor by His grace”, he concluded.
There are apprehension and anxiety as the citizens and residents of Osun State awaits tomorrow’s decision of the apex court on the governorship tussle. Several political groups of the two major parties, APC and PDP, have also embarked on a massive spiritual quest for a favourable judgment.
