The elated visitors assured Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the support of the State House of Assembly under the leadership of Owoeye. They noted that considering the credentials, antecedents and experience of Owoeye at the state legislative house, it would be easy for him to navigate the state parliament to provide the needed support for Oyetola’s administration to achieve his electoral promises.

In his response, the Governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola, thanked the entourage for coming to show gratitud, he also used the opportunity to call for concerted efforts by all and sundry to move the state to enviable height.

You would recall that the Osun speakership race was one that heated up the politics of the State until the intervention of very prominent members of the ruling party led by Chief Bisi Akande who settled various vested interests before the official inauguration of the House that held on June 6.

The emergence of Owoeye, makes him the fifth Speaker of the state Assembly, since the creation of Osun in 1991.

Owoeye in his inaugural speech, titled “As the great work continues”, recounts his sojourn in the assembly from 2007 till 2019, where he started as a Minority Leader in 2007 and later became the Majority Leader from 2011 to 2019.
