Three artisans have died and four others injured after a two-storey shopping complex collapsed at Owode-Ede in Osun State.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday.
According to officials, seven of the eight tilers who came from Ejigbo were trapped in the building. They were said to be apprentices working at the site without their boss.
The building, described as a shopping complex, has twelve shops on the second and third floors with two stores in the basement.
Three victims died and their bodies have been deposited at the mortuary, while four were rescued alive and taken to a hospital in Ede.
“Four of the survivors sustained serious injuries, with some losing their legs and hands. One person who reportedly did not sleep early escaped unhurt,” a source stated.
