Osun govt, UNESCO to train 3,000 graduates in Artificial Intelligence

The Osun State Government, in partnership with Read and Earn Federation for UNESCO UNESCO REF, has opened nominations for 3,000 young graduates to participate in a fully funded 13-week professional Artificial Intelligence, AI, programme.

The programme, scheduled to begin in December 2026, is facilitated by the Office of the Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, through UNESCO REF’s Educational Financial Facility Scheme, EFFS.

Successful participants will receive free training and certification with the Advanced Research Diploma in Artificial Intelligence, ARDAI Tier I.

Applicants must be indigenes or residents of Osun State and hold at least a bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma, HND, or recognised equivalent.

Speaking on the initiative, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on SDGs, Bamikole Omishore, said the programme will equip young people with skills for opportunities in the global digital economy.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming virtually every sector. This programme will help our graduates compete globally, access better-paying jobs and build technology-driven businesses,” Omishore said.

According to the government, the initiative builds on Osun’s partnership with UNESCO REF under The VOICE Initiative and supports Governor Adeleke’s focus on youth empowerment and human capital development.
