Adeleke signs Osun Park Management Bill into law

Governor Ademola Adeleke has signed the Osun State Park Management Bill into law, effectively proscribing the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state.

The bill, recently passed by the Osun State House of Assembly, was signed into law on Monday at the Government House, Osogbo.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

According to the statement, Governor Adeleke commended the House of Assembly for its proactiveness and dynamism in passing the bill, describing it as a major step towards modernising the state’s transport sector.

He said the new law would address the perennial crises in the transport system and create a better experience for both commuters and operators across the state.

“I applaud the House Speaker and members of the House for always acting in the best interest of the state. I have gone through the bill as passed by the House, and I am convinced that it is the best solution to the perennial crisis and challenges facing the Osun transportation park system.

“Having signed this bill into law, I assure all stakeholders that implementation will commence in earnest. In line with the law, we will ensure that Osun people and other interests are accommodated for efficient service delivery across the state,” the Governor stated.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, said the House followed its standing rules in processing and passing the bill.

Egbedun assured that the new law provides lasting solutions to issues that have burdened the state’s transport park system.
