Three suspected criminals who allegedly terrorised students of Osun State University along Oke-Baale routes in Osogbo have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command.
The suspects, identified as Abass Quadri, 26, Joshua Olanrewaju, 24, and Taiwo Yusuf, 25, were picked up at their hideouts following complaints from the students.
Police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday, said the suspects specialised in stopping students forcefully, threatening them and dispossessing them of phones and money via forced transfers.
Ojelabi said the suspects have been charged to court, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to the nearest police station.
