Osun CP presents welfare cheques to families of fallen heroes

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, on Friday, presented cheques of ₦13,531,081.10 to families of fallen police officers at the Command Headquarters in Osogbo.

According to a statement by the command spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, the presentation formed part of IGP’s welfare support to next of kin of officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.

Receiving the families in his office, the Commissioner expressed deep condolences over their loss and commended the courage and sacrifice of the departed officers.

CP Zungura urged the bereaved families not to lose hope, noting that the Nigeria Police Force remains a family that stands with its own in service and after.

He charged them to apply the financial support judiciously, use it to ease immediate needs, and continue to take pride in the honourable service rendered by their loved ones.

The Commissioner further reiterated that the Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, will not abandon the families of fallen heroes.

He said the IGP’s administration remains committed to the welfare of officers and their dependants, and that the presentation was a practical expression of that pledge.

CP Zungura assured the families of the Command’s continued support and prayed that God grant them the strength to bear their loss.
