Omipidan faults Adeleke’s performance, says re-election not based on deliverables

Ismail Omipidan, former Chief Press Secretary to ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke has not shown enough capacity to lead Osun State.

Speaking on Sunday during a programme on Trust TV, Omipidan said it would be “preposterous” for anyone to conclude that Adeleke was re-elected because of his performance in office.

He noted that apart from road construction and payment of salaries, the administration has little to show.

He argued that payment of salaries should no longer be celebrated as an achievement, given the increased allocations currently going to states from the federation account.

“The allocation that is going to States today will make it difficult for a governor to say he cannot pay salaries,” he said.

Omipidan further faulted the quality of road projects by the current administration.

He claimed most of the roads were substandard, citing the road leading to his local government which, according to him, started getting patched less than a month after completion.
