The Osun State Police Command said it has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East, over threats he allegedly made against Accord Party members during a protest in Ilesa on Tuesday.
The Command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed to The PUNCH on Wednesday that the lawmaker was invited by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the election, Samuel Etaifo.
“I can confirm that he (Fadahunsi) has been summoned by the CP. We will make a statement available regarding it,” Ojelabi said.
It would be recalled that Fadahunsi came under fire on Tuesday after a video surfaced of him speaking at the palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland during a protest over the alleged killing of three APC members in Ilesa.
In the clip, the senator, speaking in Yoruba, said: “How many people have you seen the APC kill? We are here to tell you that until the day of the election, if we see any Accord member in Ilesa, we will kill them.”
However, the senator, in a statement he personally signed, stated that the video was doctored, adding that what he said was that the All Progressives Congress will retaliate if the killings of its members continue.
