Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said the August 15 governorship election cannot be rigged, declaring that the votes of Osun people will decide the winner.
Adeleke who stated this on Monday during a campaign rally in Oke Ila, Ifedayo Local Government Area, said residents are prepared to defend their votes.
According to a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said, “I heard some politicians vowing to steal the votes. Where and how? Osun votes are untouchable. This is Osun State, the heart of the Yoruba nation. Nobody can rig us out here”.
Adeleke added that attacks and war mongering have only made the people more determined.
“Osun people are not scared. Osun people are not cowards. They will vote and defend their votes,” he stated, while also urging voters not to sell their PVCs and to remain vigilant on election day.
Earlier, the governor visited the palaces of the Asaoni of Ora Igbomina, Oba Johnson Adekanmi Abikoye, and the Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin.
He highlighted his administration’s projects in urban and rural areas.
