The opposition All Progressives Congress in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of planning to induce civil servants, teachers and other public workers with N20,000 each ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The party, in a statement on Sunday signed by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, alleged that the governor approved the payment as a vote-buying strategy in the forthcoming poll.
The statement alleged that the largesse also covers local government workers.
According to the APC, reliable information indicates that beneficiaries’ bank accounts will start receiving the N20,000 payment from Monday.
The party urged workers to reject what it called a “Greek gift,” citing the governor’s alleged failure to pay leave bonuses since May 2025 and to remit cooperative deductions, loan deductions, pension contributions, health insurance deductions and trade union check-off dues.
The APC also alleged that agents of the Accord Party were sighted in Osogbo and Olorunda LGA on Saturday distributing N10,000 to potential voters after making them swear an oath to vote for Governor Adeleke.
The party called on the Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC Chairman, Osun Police Command and the DSS to investigate and stop the alleged electoral fraud. It also urged the EFCC and ICPC to probe the allegation.
