The Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has paid an emotional tribute to his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, who passed away recently.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Palace, through Senior Media Officer, Sodiq Lawal, the monarch described the late Prince as a distinguished son of Ile-Ife whose life was defined by humility, integrity, entrepreneurial excellence and commitment to humanity.
He said the death has created an irreplaceable vacuum in the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the entire Ile-Ife Kingdom.
Born on December 8, 1967, into the Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House, Prince Adetunji distinguished himself as a leading Nigerian entrepreneur.
He served as Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings, where he built a reputation for innovation and visionary leadership.
Beyond business, the Ooni noted that his late brother was a compassionate philanthropist and a dependable pillar of support who quietly touched many lives through generosity, wise counsel and selfless service.
“Today, the entire royal family mourn not only a brother and son but also a trusted confidant and a man whose life reflected honour, dignity and uncommon compassion. His dedication to family values and love for humanity will forever remain a source of inspiration,” the Ooni stated.
The monarch said Prince Adetunji’s legacy transcends the business community, as he consistently upheld the noble values of the Ojaja Royal Family through exemplary conduct and service to society. He prayed that Olodumare grant the departed eternal rest and comfort the family, friends and associates he left behind.
