The mother of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, is dead.
Basiru announced her death in an emotional tribute shared on his Facebook page.
He wrote: “Alhamdulilah for a life well spent in devotion to Allah and service to humanity! I will always remember your love and the sacrifice to enable us be who Allah destined us to be. I love you, Maami, but I accept that we belong to Allah and to Him we shall all return someday! May ALLAH forgive you and grant you Aljanna Firdaus.”
The former Senate spokesperson described his late mother as a loving and sacrificial woman whose unwavering support and prayers helped shape the lives of her children.
Although the family has not announced the burial arrangements, members of the APC, political associates, and the opposition party have taken to social media to condole with the former Senate spokesperson.
Some of the early mourners include the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Fadeyi, the Chairman of Obokun LGA, Maroof Ogundipe, House of Representatives Aspirants, Romeo MUIDEEN and Abimbola Amusan.
