Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has described the death of the Chief Executive Officer of Yinka Oba Foam, Chief (Mrs.) Yinka Obalaye is seen as “the end of an era” for entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment in Ijesaland.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday, Adeleke said the deceased was one of Ijesaland’s most accomplished business figures whose enterprise inspired generations of women and young entrepreneurs across Osun State and beyond.
“The passing of Mama Yinka Oba marks the end of an era for many who drew inspiration from her success story and commitment to the advancement of her community,” the governor said, as he prayed for the repose of her soul and condoled with her family, friends, and the people of Ilesa.
Also mourning the industrialist, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, said Ijesaland had lost one of its brightest symbols of vision and perseverance.
“Mama Yinka Oba was an Ijesa pride. She built a brand from scratch and turned it into a household name not only in Osun but across Nigeria. That is the definition of vision and perseverance,” Owoeye said.
He added that beyond her business achievements, Chief Obalaye was committed to philanthropy and community upliftment.
“Many lives were touched by her generosity, and her doors were always open to those in need,” he said.
