The Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Engr. Olalekan Badmus has condemned the attack and vandalisation of his political office set up to support the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15, 2026, election.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Mustapha Aleem, Badmus described the incident as a desperate attempt to intimidate voters and halt the growing momentum of the APC in Osogbo and across Osun State.
He said the people of Osogbo remain resolute in their commitment to democratic participation and cannot be cowed into abandoning support for the APC through violence, threats or criminal acts.
According to him, the massive mobilisation and acceptance being enjoyed by the APC have unsettled political opponents, forcing them to resort to intimidation.
“The nooks and crannies of Osogbo are firmly behind the APC. The unprecedented support base has become intimidating to our traducers,” he stated.
He described the attack on the political office as “condemnable and unacceptable in a democratic society,” stressing that Osogbo residents are peace-loving and politically conscious.
“Osogbo people cannot be intimidated into surrendering their constitutional right to vote for the party and candidate of their choice, especially the APC,” he said.
