OSCOTECH gets NBTE nod for 20 new programmes, reaccredits 11 existing ones

The management of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, has announced that it has secured full accreditation and approval for all programmes presented to the National Board for Technical Education during its recent accreditation exercise.

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Fatai Tijani, the NBTE approved 20 new programmes for immediate commencement at ND and HND levels and also re-accredited 11 existing programmes at the college.

He said, “The new ND courses include Mass Communication, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science and Management Technology, Food Science Technology, and Transport Planning and Management.

“At HND level, NBTE approved Arts and Industrial Design with Textile and Graphics options, Office Technology Management, Agribusiness Management, Animal and Crop Production Technology, Agricultural Extension and Management, Film and Multimedia Production, Library and Information Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Data Protection, Marketing, Taxation, and two Mechatronics Engineering Technology options in Industrial and Automotive Mechatronics.”

Commenting on the development, the Rector of the college, Mr S. A. Adewumi, said the approvals reflect OSCOTECH’s commitment to quality education, infrastructure upgrade, and curriculum delivery that matches industry needs.

He noted the new courses align with global trends in AI, Cyber Security, Mechatronics, Environmental Management, Media, and Agribusiness.

Adewumi thanked the Governing Council, led by Prince Diran Odeyemi, management, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders for their support during the exercise.

The rector assured prospective students and parents that OSCOTECH will maintain high standards in technical and vocational training. He said the successful exercise further cements the institution’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading polytechnics in teaching, research, innovation, and technology.
