2026: Osun senator tells supporters to keep supporting Oyebamiji despite losing ticket

The lawmaker representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, has urged his supporters across Osun Central to remain calm and continue working for the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the August 15 governorship poll, Bola Oyebamiji.

Fadeyi made this known in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Digital Media and Publicity, Desmond Adekanola, obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday.

The admonition, according to the statement, followed a meeting Fadeyi held with his supporters at his campaign office in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Addressing supporters who attended the meeting from the 10 local government areas within the Senatorial District, Fadeyi noted the party members’ displeasure with the outcome of the APC Senatorial primary election.

“I know many of you are not happy with what you described as a political coup called the primary election conducted by our party.

“However, concerned leaders of the party are working tirelessly, day and night, to ensure that normalcy returns in due course,” he said.

He urged his supporters not to allow the outcome of the primary election to weaken their commitment to APC or derail the collective goal of reclaiming Osun State.

“Whoever is planning to decamp to any other political party should bury such plans and remain steadfast in the APC. Our strength lies in our unity, loyalty, and commitment to the progressive ideals of our great party,” he said.
