2026: I am not convinced about Oyebamiji – Yemi Lawal

Former Osun Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Yemi Lawal, has disclosed that he has reservations about the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Lawal equally said the primary election which produced Oyebamiji was not organised properly.

He stated this on Tuesday when he appeared on a private TV programme in Osogbo.

Lawal who is a loyalist of the former national secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, said he is not yet convinced about Oyebamiji’s candidacy, adding that he cannot campaign for him.

He said, “After the disqualification that happened in December, I particularly lost interest in anything primary within the All Progressives Congress because I could see clearly that there wouldn’t be internal democracy.

“We were unable to organise something credible in December last year. To the best of my knowledge, the party is not doing anything.

“I don’t know what Bola Oyebamiji represents. I will vote for him if I am available in the country. I can’t stand in front of anybody to ask them to vote for AMBO because I am not convinced.

“I don’t have any reason to be convinced because I haven’t had a one-on-one with him to know what he has for the people.”
