The lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has called on Southwest governors to hold an emergency security meeting to address growing threats to the region’s safety.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Salam urged the governors of Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos to visit their Oyo State counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde, to commiserate with him over last Friday’s attack on schools in the Aholo-Esinele community of Oriire Local Government Area.
The Accord Party lawmaker warned that proactive measures were needed to prevent bandits from spreading further across the Southwest. He suggested that the governors should adopt a more aggressive approach by taking the fight to criminal elements before they infiltrate more states.
“Governors in the South West, please visit Seyi Makinde in Oyo State and identify with him,” Salam wrote.
“Hold strategic security meetings, not just about Oyo State but about how to secure this part of the country from this evil rampage. Take the war to them before they bring it closer.”
