The Obidient Movement has called on eligible Nigerians yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) by the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement yesterday by its National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, the group urged Nigerians aged 18 and above to ensure they register and collect their PVCs.
It described voter participation as essential to strengthening democracy and driving national development.
The Movement stressed that the exercise represents a critical opportunity for Nigerians to prepare for next year’s election, which it described as a decisive moment for Nigeria’s democratic future.
According to the statement, participation in the electoral process remains both a constitutional right and a civic responsibility.
It said that increased voter engagement would help address challenges such as corruption, insecurity, unemployment, and poverty through accountable leadership.
The Movement also appealed to civil society groups, religious organisations, traditional institutions, the media and community leaders to support nationwide voter sensitisation and mobilisation efforts.
“The Continuous Voter Registration is ongoing and will end on Friday, July 10, 2026. This is a crucial opportunity for all eligible Nigerians to obtain their PVCs ahead of the 2027 General Elections,” the statement read.
It further encouraged Nigerians seeking to replace lost cards, transfer polling units or correct personal details to use the INEC online portal or visit designated registration centres.
The statement also noted that the voter register would be displayed for public scrutiny between July 23 and July 29, allowing Nigerians to verify their details and request corrections where necessary.
“We urge Nigerians not to postpone the collection of their PVCs. We must register, we must vote, and we must defend our mandate,” the statement added.
The group reaffirmed its belief in electoral participation as a pathway to national renewal, concluding that “a new Nigeria is possible.”
