The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one suspect, in connection with the abduction of a Fulani herdsman based in Ijebu Jesa, Osun State, named Yahaya Sulaiman.
The victim has, however, regained freedom after payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom.
It would be recalled that some gunmen had abducted Sulaiman and demanded a sum of N70million in ransom before his release.
The incident occurred at about 9pm on Monday.
According to report, Sulaiman was released on Thursday after the abductors had collected an undisclosed amount as ransom.
When contacted for confirmation, Osun Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, said Sulaiman was “rescued by the police, adding that a “suspect arrested in connection with the incident is with the police.”
