Manchester City draw against Everton in huge boost to Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes

Everton and Manchester City have drawn in an instant classic, boosting Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes.

In a first half dominated by Manchester City, Jeremy Doku put the visitors ahead in the 43rd minute with a superb left-footed strike into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Everton substitute Thierno Barry took advantage of a dreadful Marc Guehi error to equalise before the hosts took the lead through Jake O’Brien’s header.

It got better for Everton in the 81st minute when Barry scored his second goal, but Erling Haaland responded immediately to halve the deficit. And Doku scored a second brilliant goal deep into stoppage time to salvage a point for the visitors, a mirror image of his first-half strike.

The result leaves Arsenal five points clear at the top of the Premier League having played one more game than City. The point moves Everton up into 10th.
