The former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has assured electorates that the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Oyebamiji, will bring widespread infrastructure development if elected in the August 15, election.
Owoeye gave the assurance while speaking on behalf of the APC flagbearer at the 2026 Oba-Ile Day celebration held in Olorunda Local Government Area at the weekend.
The former lawmaker, expressed concerns over the deplorable state of the major access road leading into the ancient kingdom of Oba-Ile and several other communities in Olorunda LGA, describing the situation as unacceptable.
“Unlike the current administration that has concentrated public amenities in the governor’s hometown, an Oyebamiji government will drive infrastructure transformation across all nooks and crannies of Osun,” Owoeye said.
“Neglected areas like Oba-Ile will receive priority attention. Oyebamiji will end lopsided development, spread projects across the State,” he added.
Owoeye maintained that the dividends of democracy must not be reduced to tools of selfish interest, segregation, or nepotism.
“Every community in Osun deserves good road networks, ultramodern classrooms, and other development projects. Governance should serve the majority, not a privileged few,” he emphasised.
Owoeye urged the people to reject nepotism at the polls and enthrone a leader committed to progressive and inclusive governance.
While commending the people of Oba-Ile for their steadfast support of the APC, the former lawmaker assured them that the town would receive the necessary attention under an Oyebamiji administration.
He thereafter announced a donation of N5 million to the Oba-Ile Development Endowment Fund, on behalf of the party candidate.
