The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke will secure a landslide victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, citing his administration’s record of achievements.
Egbedun asserted during a defection rally held in Inisa, where members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), officially joined the Accord Party.
A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, said Egbedun while addressing the gathering, expressed confidence in Adeleke’s chances at the polls.
“The record of success and achievement will speak for Governor Adeleke, and by August 15th, he will win by a landslide,” the speaker said.
Egbedun welcomed the defectors into the Accord fold and urged existing party members to embrace them fully, adding, “I want to sincerely welcome our brothers and sisters who have decided to join us today. I also admonish our party faithful to accommodate them and work together for the progress of our state.“
He further reassured the electorate of the integrity of the voting process, insisting that their votes would count.
The speaker also cautioned against intimidation, urging residents to disregard any threats allegedly coming from the APC.
“You should discredit any threats; your votes will count, and your voices will be heard,” he added.
