Easter: Ansar-Ud-Deen urges Nigerians to embrace tolerance

The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has called on Nigerians to embrace tolerance and peaceful coexistence as Christians across the country mark the Easter celebration.

The society said the season offers an opportunity for citizens to reflect on shared values and strengthen national unity amid prevailing challenges.

In a goodwill message to commemorate Easter on Friday, the National President of the society, Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, urged Nigerians to use the period to promote understanding and compassion, regardless of religious or cultural differences.

In the message signed by Ansar-Ud-Deen’s National Publicity Secretary, Sola Hassan, the president described Easter as a season symbolising sacrifice, renewal, and hope.

According to him, the period provides an opportunity for reflection on the values that unite Nigerians as one people.

“At a time when the nation faces various social and economic challenges, the enduring virtues of compassion, patience, and selflessness remain vital for national progress and collective well-being.

“The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society joins all Nigerians of goodwill in affirming the importance of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and national unity. We call on citizens, irrespective of faith or background, to embrace tolerance, understanding, and empathy as essential principles for building a harmonious, resilient, and prosperous society,” Kazeem said.

Kazeem further expressed hope that the Easter season would inspire a renewed sense of responsibility among Nigerians.

“We hope that the season of renewal will inspire Nigerians to deepen their sense of responsibility toward one another and strengthen their commitment to serving the nation with dedication and integrity.

“We also pray that the Easter celebration would bring peace, harmony, and fulfillment to the lives of all Nigerians,” he added.
