The lawmaker representing Iwo State Constituency, Hon Rabiu Atanda, on Wednesday, met with the leader of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
This came after the lawmaker withdrew his letter of resignation from the Accord Party.
osun.life reports that the lawmaker in the letter which was not dated or signed and addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, said his decision to leave the party was personal, adding that he would prefer to keep the reason undisclosed.
āI hereby tender my resignation from the Accord Party, effective immediately. This decision is personal, and Iād like to keep the reasons to myself,ā the letter read.
But in a surprising turn of events, the lawmaker in a video flanked by Egbedun and the spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed, announced that he was withdrawing the resignation letter.
Atanda who spoke in Yoruba Language did not state the reason for withdrawing the resignation letter.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon Wole Oke, who posted the pictures of the meeting, said Atanda was presented to the Minister after the 2026 Southwest Zonal Congress in Lagos.
According a post on the official Facebook page of the Federal lawmaker, the meeting had in attendance, the Senator representing Osun Central, Olubiyi Fadeyi and a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Bade Falade.
