A former Chairman of Boripe Local Government, Osun State, Hon. Kareem Afolabi, has dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Accord Party.
Afolabi joined Accord with 15 leaders of the APC during an event held at the government house on Monday.
A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the former chairman and other leaders said they decided to join Accord and support the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke because of the good job he is doing.
The statement also said the decampees expressed their resolve to be part of the good news happening all over the state, adding that “as an old political player, it is time for him and his supporters to support a good leader when they see one.”
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke, said he was overwhelmed by the commendation from the Iragbiji political leader, assuring that serving the people with integrity is a family tradition for the Adeleke family.
