Oyetola collecting half salary arrears from Adeleke – Adeoti claims

Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, a former secretary to the state government under the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, has claimed that the immediate past governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, was collecting the half salary arrears being paid by the current administration.

osun.life reports that some categories of workers during the second term of Aregbesola did not get their full salaries for more than a year.

The arrears of half salary were not paid by former governor Oyetola who was the Chief of Staff during the period.

However, Governor Ademola Adeleke has been paying the arrears to civil servants and pensioners affected during the period.

Speaking on a private radio programme in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Adeoti lauded Adeleke for completing some of the project which was started during Aregbesola’s tenure.

He said, “Some projects that were not completed during the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the administration has completed them despite not being in the APC.

“The administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola abandoned those projects and did not pay the arrears of salaries owed to workers.

“When Adeleke became governor, he said he would pay the arrears of half salaries and he is doing that. I am part of those collecting the arrears. Former governor Gboyega Oyetola is also collecting his own and we never heard that he rejected the money.”
