The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Saturday endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.

The endorsement was announced at the formal reception of the five National Assembly members who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC in 2025.

The defected lawmakers are: Senator Francis Fadahunsi, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, Mr Wole Oke, Mr Sanya Ominrin, and Mr Abimbola Ajilesoro.

The motion to endorse Tinubu was moved by former Secretary to the State Government, Sola Akinwumi and seconded by Chief Shuaib Oyedokun.

Akinwunmi said, “President Tinubu has done so well. He deserves another term in 2027 and I move the motion endorsing him for another term.”

Oyedokun, seconding the motion, appealed to Osun voters “to allow President Tinubu to continue numerous developmental initiatives currently going on across the country and vote him for another term in 2027.”

APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru who moderated the event, highlighted some achievements of President Tinubu and why he deserves the support of Nigerians.

Basiru said the national reserves have steadily increased and states and local governments have received more revenue to undertake development projects.

Speaking on the August 08 election, Basiru said the APC would win the election. He also said Osun people have not seen the benefit of the increase in allocations coming into the state.

He said, “Ask the governor that the huge amount of money he is collecting from President Bola Tinubu, what is he doing with it. Apart from that, since President Bola Tinubu assumed office, a lot of infrastructure is ongoing in states across Nigeria.”
