The Senator representing Osun West, Lere Oyewumi, has rehabilitated the Iyana Molarere–Amukuku Road in Ikire, headquarters of Irewole Local Government of Osun State.
A statement by the media unit, office of the deputy minority leader of the senate said the rehabilitation ended years of transportation challenges faced by residents and commuters in the area.
The statement noted that the road, which served as a vital link for several communities and supports daily economic, social, and commercial activities, had been in a deplorable condition for years. Its rehabilitation has significantly improved accessibility, enhanced safety, and eased the movement of people and goods within Ikire and adjoining areas.
It added that the rehabilitation of the road has further reinforced Senator Oyewumi’s reputation as a legislator who prioritised infrastructural development as a catalyst for economic growth and community well-being.
“His continued interventions across Ikire land remain a testament to his dedication to effective representation and inclusive development,” the statement noted.
