Delegates of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State will tomorrow affirm Bola Oyebamiji as the candidate of the party for the August 08, 2026, election.
The chairman of the Osun APC primary election committee, who is also the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, while addressing party leaders and members at the party secretariat, Osogbo, on Friday, said the mode of primary will be consensus.
The Edo State governor said all the 166 delegates will be accredited before the exercise, warning that no delegates will be allowed into the venue without the proper accreditation.
He said, “This gathering speaks to our collective resolve, not only to strengthen internal democracy but to reclaim Osun State into the progressive fold and restore purposeful leadership to Osun State.
“The purpose of this meeting is to formally brief you on the arrival of the primary election committee in Osun State and to outline certain modalities that will guide Saturday’s exercise.
“Transparency is key and we want every stakeholder to understand the process publicly. As you are all already aware, the mode of the primary will be consensus. All 166 accredited delegates will converge at the designated avenue to affirm the choice of our party’s candidate for the next gubernatorial election.
“Let me emphasise that no delegates will be allowed into the venue without the proper accreditation. This is to ensure fairness and accountability throughout the process.
He appealed to the members of the party to remain united and work for the success of the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.
“I therefore call on the party stakeholders, leaders, aspirants, delegates and party members to give their full support to the committee and cooperate with the officials handling the processes. Your support and peaceful conduct will guarantee a successful primary that will truly reflect the will of the APC family in Osun State.
“Let me use this opportunity to also appeal for unity. We must never allow internal bitterness, division or rancour to weaken our progress. After the affirmation tomorrow, we must unite as one strong indivisible family, fully focused on the bigger task ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election,” Okpebholo added.
