2026: I will abide by APC decision – Babayemi

One of the disqualified gubernatorial aspirants under the All Progressives Congress for the 2026 election in Osun State, Prince Dotun Babayemi, has said he will abide by the decision of the party.

Babayemi, in a statement he personally signed, said the party remains supreme, adding that he is ready to abide by its decision on who flies its flag in 2026.

The statement reads, “The Osun State Chapter of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been in the news lately, particularly for issues bordering on the process of deciding our Governorship Candidate for the Osun 2026 Governorship Election

“As a gubernatorial aspirant, I have traversed 299 Wards out of a total of 332 Wards in Osun State, spreading the Renewed Hope message of Mr President, and stating at every location that the Party remains supreme, and that I will abide by its decision on who flies its flag in 2026.

“In the past few days, the leadership of our party at the National and State levels, under the wise guidance of our Leader. President Bola Tinubu, have been busy resolving the issues that are cropping up, with a view to reaching a workable resolution that will leave our party united, and able to regain power in Osun come 2026

“I restate my commitment to the ideals of the Progressives, and I am prepared to abide by the Party’s resolutions concerning the 2026 Governorship Election, believing that the actualisation of our shared goals of delivering good governance to our people supersedes any individual desires.”
