The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has prohibited the activities of ‘miscreants’ posing as ‘Omo Onile’ in Ijesaland.

The monarch directed the arrest of anyone posing as ‘Omo Onile’ and disturbing the peace of the community.

According to a Facebook post by a media aide to the monarch, Isaac Haastrup, Owa Haastrup made the declaration at Obokungbusi Hall, Ilesa, during the formal inauguration of the Ijesa Development Fund.

The statement noted that the monarch said the ‘miscreants’ cannot extort and disturb individuals seeking to develop Ijesaland through physical projects.

He urged anyone caught to be handed over to the authorities for proper prosecution.

According to him, “the development of Ijesaland remains his top priority. He appealed to all Obas and Chiefs in Ijesaland to support him in this task of restoring Ijesaland’s lost glory.”
