A 2026 governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has asserted that his candidature would attract more electoral gains to the party at the coming election.
Babayemi maintained that though others currently aspiring for the ticket of the party were equally qualified, he, however, stressed that he was the only person among them that has thousands of people in other parties that could be added to what the APC currently has on ground.
He said this on Monday during the continuation of his statewide consultative meeting with leaders and stakeholders of the party at Ejigbo, Ireppodun and Orolu Local Governments,in his quest to clinch the party’s governorship ticket.
The governorship hopeful maintained that the forthcoming election in the state would be crucial, and as such, the party should endeavour to present a candidate that could win at the polls.
At Ejigbo, while Hon Bade Falade said if APC presents Babayemi, the party would not labour to win the election, the council party Chairman, Justice Adegoke Abdulateef, described him as an honest person and a true party man.
Others who welcomed Babayemi there include Prince Ajiboye Yinka, Barr Faruq Abass, Hon Olaniyi Hassan, Hon Kunle Jayeola and Engr Yinka Adigun, among others.
At Ireppodun LG, he met with State Secretary, Elders’ caucus, Pa Sola Akinwumi, Builder Rufus Oyegbile, Bar Rauf Ogunsola, who is the council chairman, Hon Oloyede JK, the LCDA chairman, Comrade Kamaldeen Adejumo-party chairman, Hon Mudashiru Anisere, party Chairman, Ireppodun South LCDA and the Women Leader, Mrs Bola Yusuf, and others.
Meanwhile, among the leaders and stakeholders of the party Babayemi parleyed at Orolu LG include Alhaji Rasheed Oyedele, Adekunle Adesina, Awolade Najeem, who is the party chairman, Hon Kamil Oyedele, Bashorun Toyese Ojo, Hon Abolade Nureni, the LG chairman, Hon Oladejo Kazeem, Alhaji Wahab Olaniyan and Princess Moriliat Ajibade
