US lauds Osun-based CSO over role in Edo poll

The United States Government has commended an Osun based civil society organization, Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) for their role in the just concluded Edo governorship election.

The message was contained in a Wednesday tweet by the US Mission in Abuja, it recognised the critical role that Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu played in promoting peace, while also commending the civil society partners for their invaluable work in upholding democracy and accountability in this election.

Headquarted in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun State, KDI is a youth-based non-governmental organization that promotes democratic governance, youth development and policy advocacy.

The organization championed the “VoteNotFight” campaign during the Osun 2018 Governorship Election. It is also promoting the Osun Youth Agenda as well as collaborative effort with the State House of Assembly over the recently passed Youth Development Commission bill.
