The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has made a donation of N20 million to Osun State government to support its effort to cushion the effect of coronavirus on Osun residents.
Osun is the third-highest state with confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria according to data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
The N20 million support, which was transferred into the state government’s dedicated COVID-19 account domiciled at United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), is considered timely in the fight against COVID-19.
The RCCG General Overseer who is a native of Ifewara in Osun State noted that by the donation, the mission “acknowledge the efforts of the state government in curbing the spread of the virus in the state and prayed that God would put an end to COVID-19, not just in Nigeria, but in the entire world”.
Recall that Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State had on Tuesday, appointed Pastor E.A Adeboye as a member of the 21-man Food and Relief Committee to cushion the effect of restrictions on movement of goods and services in the state.
Other members of the committee are Asiwaju Tunde Badmus, Chief Adebayo Jimoh, Pastor Matthew Asimolowo, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, General Alani Akinrinade (Rtd), Chief Tunde Ponle, Rt Hon Patricia Etteh, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Sir Demola Aladekomo, Rt Hon Lasun Yusuff, Dr Wale Babalakin, Dr Segun Aina, Mallam Yussuf Alli, SAN, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, Mr. AbdulKabir Aliyu, Dr Deji Adeleke, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
