The senator representing Osun Central, Dr Ajibola Bashiru, has made case for knowledge of science and technology for Nigeria to compete with advanced countries.
Muslims memorising the Holy Quran have better chance to succeed in science and technology because the latter is not as difficult as the former.
Speaking at the Qur’anic graduation of the Muslim Society of Nigeria, (MSSN), Morkazul Amonah, Osogbo, at the weekend, he noted that knowledge of Arabic will make heaven easy for Muslims just as knowledge of science will make life enjoyable.
He stated that it is high time Muslims involve themselves in the study of information communication and technology has advised by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He said Muslims should not limit knowledge to Arabic speaking, but strive to study nursing because of the need to ensure that Muslim women have women nurses to attend to them in the hospitals.
The second lecturer, Ustaz Nurudeen Abajaoro, enjoined the graduands to be contented with whatever Allah gives them in life, noting that the certificate is not a license to get rich.
