Oyetola presents 119bn ‘Budget of Restoration’ to Assembly

Governor of the State of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola has today presented the 2020 budget estimates of N119,550,401,040 to the State House Assembly.

The 2020 estimates which is dubbed ‘budget of restoration” has N57,674,993,990 as recurrent expenditure while N61,875,407,050 is budgeted for capital expenditure.

The presentation of the budget estimate is in line with the dictates of section 121, sub-section 1 of the 1999 constitution, as he noted that the appropriation reflects the development plan for Osun.

Oyetola said in the course of the preparation of the budget, “inputs were sought from all stakeholders in the process of the formulation of the 2020 budget being presented today.”

“For example, there was a budget consultative forum in all the three senatorial districts of the state between 30th October, and 1st November 2019.”

“It is, therefore, glaring that the draft budget is a product of wide consultations as well as serious and deep consideration

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye said the goal of the current Assembly is to place the economy on the path to sustainable growth, poverty elimination and economic opportunity.
