The Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has urged muslims across the state to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Adha to pray for peace in Nigeria.
Owoeye in a signed sallah message, felicitated with Nigerians, especially the Muslim faithful, as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
He implored them to reflect on the significance of the celebration, which bordered on piety, sacrifice and love.
“The import of this festive period remains our collective ability to live in peace. We must continue to strive and pray for peace in Osun, Nigeria and the world. Only peace can guarantee meaningful development” he stressed
The Speaker who expressed happiness that the state is celebrating this year’s Sallah with less concerns about crimes, thanked Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the security agencies for tackling the issue of insecurity when the state was faced with the challenge.
While assuring that the House under his leadership would always work for the betterment of the people’s interest, he called for more citizens’ collaborations with the state government with a view to enabling it deliver as expected.
