By David Abiola

As Muslims across the world commence the Ramadan fast, a former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has charged adherents of Islam to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, piety and commitment to doing good deeds which the season preaches.

Aregbesola in his Ramadan message charged Nigerians to use the opportunity of multiple rewards embedded in the season to rekindle their faith.

The former Governor noted that the season also presents a platform for Muslims to abstain from sin and engage in acts that will bring them closer to Allah.

“As we begin Ramadan, I urge us all to note the lessons and rites of sacrifice, tolerance, abstinence from sin and engaging in good deeds.”

“Ramadan also presents a unique opportunity to us to pray for continued peace and progress of our country, our leaders and the development of our society.”

“We must not also forget charitable, assist in propagating Islam and be living towards everyone irrespective of faith, colour or ethnic background. Ramadan Mubarak” he concluded.
