A former Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Osun State chapter and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Kunle Ayantoye, has urged members of the party not to be disturbed with the ongoing legal tussle over the governorship election.
Ayantoye, in a telephone interview with newsmen, posited that with the legally permitted activities of the leadership of the party over the governorship tussle, Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s position is unshakeable.
The ex-ALGON chairman who was also the former council chairman of Ifedayo Local Government Council Area of the state said the hyper-media hype of the opposition on the ongoing governorship tussle at the Court of Appeal was skillfully designed to evoke psychological intimidation of the APC members in the state.
According to the APC chieftain, it would be inappropriate to allow the opposition to dampen their spirit with the deluge of their propaganda instruments.
It was his observation that the members should develop a thick skin towards the needless and frivolously-packaged propaganda, adding that election suit is not won by same but by the presentation of logical and factual details needed by the tribunal umpires.
Going down memory lane, Ayantoye reminded the members of the party that no election litigation could be more complicated than what transpired in the three-and-a-half-year life span of the protracted efforts to retrieve the then stolen mandate of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola from its usurper.
He said he was confident that the election of Governor Oyetola has divine support which is beyond the comprehension of any mortal living or dead.
The ex-ALGON chairman expressed rhetorically: “If the all-knowing God is with someone, whoever is protesting is only wasting his time.
“It was Almighty God that enthroned Governor Oyetola, and the same God is still not asleep to guide and protect his anointed.”
He congratulated all the inhabitants of the state for having a personality like Oyetola as their governor as he is neither vindictive nor loud.
His preoccupation would be how the various communities, making up the state, would partake in accessing dividends of democracy in the interest of the State.
