The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described political detractors in the state ‘insensitive’ for tagging the governorship candidate of the APC, Gboyega Oyetola and some other party men in the state emissaries.
He said this at the APC governorship campaign rally held at the Osogbo City Stadium on Thursday.
Tinubu said he was surprised at how some people have taken joy in calling the APC candidate names just because he lived in Lagos state despite him being an indigene of the state.
“We all pray to amass wealth so that we can successfully go back home to better the lives of our people. Oyetola and other people who are called ‘Ajele’ have done just this. They were born in this state before moving to Lagos and just because they made it over there, they are no longer for Osun,” Tinubu lamented.
He added that APC chose Oyetola so that the state could be saved and get developed just like Lagos state. He said that he was also part of the struggle that saw to the winning of the Federal seat.
Also, the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, said it was important for the people of the state not to quickly forget what they went through in the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party before Governor Aregbesola liberated them.
He said, “Sometimes people forget what they have been through. Some eight years ago, the state was going through hell before APC came on board to to change the trend.
“We have to appreciate what the governor has done in this state and we are also presenting to you another good apprentice who is a financial expert.”
The Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, advised electorate to cast their votes for the APC candidate in the September 22 governorship election in order to ensure continuity of good governance.
