A socio political group, Alliance For Greater Osun (AFGO) has called on Arc. Muyiwa Ige, the son of late political Icon, Chief Bola Ige to join the gubernatorial race in Osun.

The group also lauded the State Governor and the leadership of the party for encouraging all interested and qualified individuals to try a shot at the exalted seat irrespective of the senatorial district they come from.

The group further stated that wholesale zoning is alien to the constitution of the Country as well as that of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

AFGO, a group of Osun Youths and young professionals across the state made this known in a statement signed by Comrade Segun Ojelade (Osun East), Olajumoke Ibrahim (Osun Central) and Abiola Kazeem (Osun West) and made available to our correspondents.

According to the group, Osun needs an energetic, politically oriented and hard working young Professional with every trait of Omoluabi to continue from wherever Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola would stop.

“The issue of Zoning limits the involvement of more credible and widely acceptable aspirants to join the race thereby restricting the choice of the electorates who are primarily yearning for good governance”, the group said.

AFGO informed that the choice of Muyiwa Ige, came up during the group’s assessment of the aspirants that had already shown interest, adding that his pedigree and the professional background as well as his remarkable performance in Ogbeni Aregbesola administration stand him out for the number one job in the state of Osun.

” Muyiwa Ige, a multi talented young man, highly resourceful, a devout Christian and was one of the leading stars in Ogbeni’s cabinet completely fits into the dream successor of Ogbeni.

“Arole IGE as fondly called by admirers and in political circle is creative, hard working, Loyal, transparent, brilliant, highly reliable and can be referred as an embodiment of all ingredients of OMOLUABI.

“There is no doubt that Muyiwa, the heir of Bola Ige dynasty would uphold the legacies of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and also move Osun to the next greater heights, the group informed.

AFGO further stated that APC and the State of Osun at large need a competent and energetic person who can successfully blend the management of human resource management with political administration to move Osun to the next level.

“The young Ige grew politically under the tutelage of his father, Late Chief Bola Ige and he has also carved a niche for himself professionally and politically without any blemish.

” We therefore state without any fear that Muyiwa would not only be a great asset to the Party in winning the forth coming gubernatorial election in the State but would also delivers the dividend of democracy to the doorsteps of the electorates, ” the group submitted.

AFGO however declared that the group has called for an expansive meeting to be held with Arole in his Esa Oke Country home in a couple of days.
