The football team of Rave FM, against all odds, sent their colleagues from the Local Government Chapel packing out of the ongoing NUJ Inter Chapel Soccer Competition following a resounding victory in today’s game.
The team, buoyed by the presence of the station’s CEO, Mr Femi Adefila forced the lacklustre Local Government Chapel FC to a goalless draw at the regulation hour, pulling the game to penalty shootouts.
Led in the attack by Demola Atanda, “Demosport”, and coached by Joseph Atewe, Rave FM put five penalties past the helpless Local Government Chapel goalkeeper while two LG players lost their kicks as they “shot from the penalty spot to throwing”.
The elated Femi Adefila and the presenter of “Frank Talk”, a popular Rave FM current affairs program, Femi Olanipekun could not hide their joy as they celebrated the victory with excitement.
Rave FM has therefore progressed to the quarterfinals of the competition, joining the likes of Uniq FM, State Information and the defending Champions, OSBC.
The “brave” Rave will meet the winner between NTA and Federated Chapel in the quarterfinals of the competition, holding next week.
