Osun Govt Trains 5,000 Teachers Annually – SUBEB

By Editor

Osun government on Friday said it has embarked on the training of 5,000 teachers annually from the pool of teachers working under the state basic education system.

Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, the Permanent Secretary, Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), made this known in Osogbo.

“Osun government trains 5,000 teachers on annual basis out of the workforce of 15,000. This means that in three years, all the teachers have benefited from one training or the other.

“These trainings included training in Mathematics for teachers and ICT training for school leaders (Headmasters and Principals),” he said.

Kolawole said the government also built ICT centres in the modern schools all over the state to train teachers periodically.

He said the state government has taken tangible measures to ease the work of teachers in the basic education system (primary one to six and junior secondary school one to three).
